Kid Quest offers a very structured and challenging preschool program focusing on getting children ready for Kindergarten. Preschool is very important for children because they need to learn how to socialize with other children and promote problem solving skills. Pre-K children are realizing cause and effect of what happens to things in their environment. This is also the age when children start to realize that sharing and patience are skills to work on every day. The teachers are certified in Early Childhood Education and take continuing education classes each year. The teachers make lesson plans based on a theme each week, along with a shape, color, letter, and number. The children learn about their environment around them through hands on learning activities with sand, water, cooking, measuring, testing, mixing, painting, etc. The children will also extend their learning through field trips, special visitors, and trips to the local library for story time. The areas of development that are programs are based upon are: Fine and Gross Motor Skills, Circle Time, Sensory, Art, Math, Science, Geography, Small Group Time, & Language and Literacy. Children in the Pre-K classes will have 2 assessments done throughout the school year and have parent teacher conferences. Kid Quest also provides a graduation ceremony in early June. It’s a wonderful night to devote to the children so they can show the parents and family all that they have learned over the school year. It’s a night to remember! |
